Academic Decoder provides two tools: a free Test Navigator, which helps you identify an appropriate statistical test for your research design, and the Result Decoder, a paid tool that turns statistical values you enter into an APA 7-formatted results paragraph, a plain-English explanation, and dissertation-ready discussion starters. By using either tool, you agree to these Terms.
Academic Decoder is an educational support tool. It is not a substitute for statistical training, your academic supervisor, or professional statistical advice. Academic Decoder runs internal consistency checks against the statistical values you enter and may flag apparent inconsistencies. These checks do not independently reproduce your statistical analysis from raw data, and you remain responsible for verifying the underlying figures against your original statistical software output. You are responsible for checking that the values you enter are correct, and for verifying any generated output against your original statistical software results before using it in your academic work. Automated tools can occasionally produce errors — if something looks incorrect or unclear, please contact us.
You need an account to save your work and to purchase access to the Result Decoder. You're responsible for keeping your login details secure and for any activity that happens under your account. Please contact us immediately if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
The Result Decoder is available for a one-time payment, shown at checkout. This is not a subscription — you will not be charged again for the same access. See our Refund Policy for information about cancellation rights and refunds.
Please use Academic Decoder only for its intended purpose of supporting your own academic work. You agree not to attempt to disrupt the service, access other users' accounts or saved data, or resell or redistribute access to the tools. You also agree not to copy, scrape, reverse-engineer, decompile or otherwise extract the tools, their underlying code, or the wording and templates they use to generate output, and not to use Academic Decoder or anything taken from it to build or train a competing product or service.
The Academic Decoder name, branding, and the tools themselves belong to us. This includes the software, the explanations, wording and templates used to generate output, and the design of the site. The statistical write-ups generated for you, based on values you enter, are yours to use in your own academic work. Apart from that, you may not reproduce, adapt or reuse any part of Academic Decoder without our written permission.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Academic Decoder is provided on an "as is" basis, and we do not guarantee that generated output will be error-free or fit for any particular purpose beyond general educational support. We are not liable for academic outcomes, grades, or decisions made based on generated output that was not independently verified. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, including the acceptable use provisions above.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll take reasonable steps to let you know.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, this does not affect any statutory protections you're entitled to under the law of the country where you live.
Academic Decoder is operated by Academic Decoder Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17442654), with its registered office at 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom.
